The main plot revolves around Spongebob and Patrick’s adventures in their home Bikini Bottom and Neptune’s Paradise, which is a local theme park to which Spongebob has tickets for being Krusty Krab’s Employee of the Year. The player assumes the role of Spongebob, who needs to complete several tasks in the first Chapter entitled “Employee of the Year”. After serving the same customer a few times, Spongebob digs up a hidden treasure at the Goo Lagoon, which happens to contain bus tokens to Neptune’s Paradise. Spongebob and Patrick eventually head to the theme park at the end of the chapter. Subsequent chapters shows the two friends in Rock Bottom and Bottom’s Up, which are places featured in the show a few times.
At the Rock Bottom Bus Station, Spongebob meets the same customer he served at the Krusty Krab, although the guy pretends not to know him.
